It’s Christmas time, a time of joy and celebration, of making new friends and holding old friends near. This year has not been the best but I’m looking forward to a year of renewal, of starting over and getting my life back together. I’m looking for the good in things, not the bad. The other day my friend Ellen posted about doing collaborations with other bloggers, I simply commented “I’m shy” because I am really. I hate imposing or feeling that I am imposing on anyone, but Ellen wanted to collaborate. I got to talk to her a bit and learn some more about her. I already knew she did fantastic pictures and her blog was pretty amazing, what I didn’t know though is that she’s only been in Second Life a little over a year and she only started blogging on a real basis back in June of this year. Color me surprised, her photography looks like she’s been at this for years! Make sure to go give her blog and Flickr some love, she’s earned it.
I don’t typically credit the stuff from the other person’s look but the only other person but I had the forethought to get her items too, that really makes all the difference in the world, but you can check out her blog too for her credits: Blues for Christmas.
Ellen was going to build a scene because let’s admit it she’s a far better decor blogger than I am, but the stress of getting something together was not the goal of this post, we wanted to have fun and share our unique styles. I suggest a sim that I have come to enjoy for my photography, there is a stunning ballroom and you can rez there when you join the free group.
Location: The Looking Glass
The only addition we made to the scene is this gorgeous Christmas tree from Jian. Available right now at FaMESHed, this tree comes in a pack with a HUD to change multiple things about your tree.
Choosing what to wear may have been the hardest part, but when I showed Ellen this fabulous gown from Lybra she was “let’s do that, I’ll go grab one”. It was then just a matter for me to decide which color would compliment hers.
That’s where the similarities end, however, Ellen is a stunning redhead, whereas I prefer blonds. Ellen chose a stunning, long hair from Truth whereas I wanted a cute and cute hair. This hair from Magika is brand new and available at the main store location in all four HUD color options.
Ellen: Truth – Ophelia
Nickie *new*: Magika – Seven Days HUD 01
I’ve been living in my brand new LAQ Scarlet MoCap head so when I went to Kustom9 and saw that one of my all-time favorite skin makers had made a LAQ applier I had to have it. This applier comes in 7 skin tones and has a very cute sprinkling of freckles across the cheeks and nose.
Ellen: League – Sadie
Ellen uses her own shape but I purchased one from Quenby, I’m not very good at making my face pretty so I buy a shape and then modify my body and leave the face alone. This shape is so cute and very youthful.
Shape *new*: Quenby – Scarlet for LAQ Scarlet MoCap
I chose this gorgeous eyeshadow from SlackGirl, it is available right now at Appliquè. It comes with an Omega HUD including 8 colors and system tattoo layers as well. These shadows are just gorgeous. For the closeup look of Ellen please visit her blog.
Eyes: Mesange – Natsu
I wanted a necklace to compliment this stunning dress and hopped around a few events before I remembered that Just Because had a new necklace at Pay It Forward. This event is a gifting event so you can purchase items to give as gifts or keep them for yourself. This necklace comes with a HUD that includes 7 metals and 22 gems. It is truly a stunning piece.
Dark Passions – Koffin Nails is at Imaginarium with a brand new gacha. This gacha is so much fun and includes 14 commons and 1 rare. They are made for Slink, Omega and Maitreya nails. Remember, if you have Maitreya to play that machine as Omega does not work with Maitreya.
Kibitz is back at Kustom9 with an all-new set of Maitreya bento-enabled rings. Available in four metal colors or a fatpack these rings are sure to complete your look.
We pulled the entire thing together with this fabulous bento pose from Foxcity. The super cute infinity symbol created by your hands was just too good not to share.
